Mr. R.T. came to MV post-surgical right AKA due to severe PVD. Prior to admission, the patient was living with a spouse and able to complete daily living tasks with minimal to no assistance. Upon admission to Medina Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation, R.T. required max to moderate assistance to complete transfers, bed mobility and toileting tasks. He also required max A to complete lower body dressing and mod assist for bathing tasks. When therapy services were initiated, RT had little hope for achieving his goal of going home with his wife of many years, as she would not be able to assist him at this level.

What happened next was amazing! With hard work and dedication, along with the excellent work of the therapy and nursing teams, Mr. R.T. was able to reach his goal. After only 3 weeks, Mr. R.T. was able to transfer and get in and out of bed with minimal assistance and he was able to ambulate 15ft Mod A. Mr. R.T. went from max A with toileting, bathing, and dressing to only requiring minimal assistance to complete these tasks. We are so proud of Mr. R.T. and what he was able to accomplish here at Medina Valley Health and Rehabilitation. He is a true example of what we can do together to achieve success for our patients.
